UNKNOWN / GAME INFORMATION
Terms of use
LAST UPDATED OCTOBER 20, 2026
UNKNOWN is a free-to-play game by Jonathan Swift. Explore, solve puzzles, build your pet collection, and follow the story without a required credit purchase.
1. App license and Apple services
The app is licensed, not sold. Unless the App Store listing supplies a different applicable license, use of the app is governed by Apple’s Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement. This page supplements that license with game-specific information; it does not replace its terms or your non-excludable legal rights.
The App Store, Game Center, and other Apple services are subject to Apple’s applicable terms. You need compatible hardware and software. Online play and purchases also need an internet connection.
2. Free play and availability
The game is intended to be free to download and play, with optional credit purchases. A purchase is not required for the core exploration, puzzle, capture, or story experience. Availability, compatibility, age rating, and current purchase options will be shown in the App Store listing when the game is released.
The game is currently in development. This site is a preview, not a promise of a specific release date. Promotional illustrations express the game’s visual world; images labeled as screenshots show the app. Creatures, planets, offers, and example progress may differ from your playthrough.
3. Credits and optional purchases
You can earn credits through gameplay. You can also choose to buy consumable credit packs using Apple’s purchase system. The App Store displays the applicable local-currency price before you authorize a purchase. No subscription is offered in the current game.
Credits are virtual game content. They are not money, cannot be redeemed for cash, and do not earn interest. The game’s player-trading feature does not create a real-money marketplace. Do not sell game items, pets, or credits for real-world payment.
Verified purchases are delivered to the local game save. Credit packs are consumable purchases, not a permanent unlock that Restore Purchases recreates. Do not assume a balance will transfer between devices or survive deleting the app. See the save information below before removing the game.
Apple handles billing and refund requests under its policies and applicable law. If credits do not arrive, keep the app installed and contact support. For refund requests, visit reportaproblem.apple.com. Nothing here removes any refund or consumer right you have under applicable law.
4. Local saves and game progress
Progress is stored locally on your device. The current game has no developer-run cloud-save or automatic cross-device save synchronization. Game Center scores and achievements are not a backup of your whole adventure. Deleting the app or losing device data can remove pets, credits, items, and progress. Device backup and restore depend on your Apple settings.
Keep suitable backups. The developer cannot guarantee recovery of a lost local save and cannot remotely access your device’s save to repair it. Updates aim to preserve progress, but no software or device storage can be promised to be free of every interruption or failure.
5. Battles, trades, and fair play
Some activities affect real pet health and inventory. Feeding one pet to another permanently removes the selected food pet after confirmation. Carefully read the names and the offered trade before approving either action.
For multiplayer, use compatible versions and follow the in-game invitation and confirmation flow. Connection interruptions can end a match or require recovery of a pending trade. The game records committed actions to preserve progress; an interruption does not automatically undo health loss or spent items.
Do not exploit errors to duplicate rewards, interfere with another player’s connection, cheat rankings, impersonate other people, or use offensive or private information in names shared with others. Respect Apple’s Game Center rules and the privacy of the players you meet.
6. Changes and service limits
Updates may change balance, puzzle difficulty, prices of in-game offers, artwork, availability, or compatibility between versions. Apple services and internet or local-network connections may be unavailable. There is no promise of uninterrupted multiplayer, support for every device, or indefinite future content. Your applicable rights concerning purchased content remain unaffected.
7. Intellectual property
The software, game design, artwork, characters, music, written story, and other content are protected by applicable intellectual-property rights. Ownership remains with the developer or relevant rights holders. The intended sharing-card feature lets you share your discoveries; it does not transfer ownership of the underlying game assets.
8. Privacy, warranty, and your rights
Read the privacy policy for information about local data, multiplayer, Apple purchases, and support. Warranty and liability provisions are governed by the applicable app license and law. Nothing on this page excludes rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded.
9. Updates to this page
These game-specific terms and information may change as the game develops. The current version will appear here with a revised date. Changes to an applicable app license will follow the relevant App Store process.
